Dentdale
DENTDALE - 12th October 2001
This view looks south towards the beginning of Dentdale (depending of course from which end you are starting!) Dentdale itself is to the right and the photograph is taken from the road known as the "Coal Road", that leads from the hamlet of Cow Gill, at the bottom, up to Dent station and onwards to Garsdale. The viaduct to the left is Arten Gill and in the distance is Dent Head Viaduct, its location giving rise to its name, which is not always the case with the railway - Dent village was an hours cab ride away from the station in Victorian times!
