66068 at Grisedale Crossing
GRISEDALE CROSSING - 22nd September 1999
The rear portion of the train hauled by 66068 is crossing the five arches of Lunds Viaduct under which Lunds Sike flows and the tunnel in the background is the short 98 yard Moorcock Tunnel. The footbridge, upon which I'm standing, is the only plate-girder type to be found on the whole line, erected in 1936 to replace a wooden one built in 1886. There is a house to my right - a lineside "des-res" if ever there was one!
